What are Followers?

Last Updated: Mar 15, 2016 02:08PM EDT
The follow feature allows students in the Merit Network to connect with each other, and parents and relatives stay in the loop on student accomplishments.

Parents, coaches, high school teachers, guidance counselors, prospective employers, and more can follow students' achievements.

When a reader creates a follower account, they will receive email updates when you promote another accomplishment about the student they're following.

All non-student Followers must sign-up in order to follow a student and all students have the ability to block a follower.

Blocking Followers

Merit provides students with information about the people who are following their Merit page and lets them manage these accounts.
When somebody new signs up to follow a student, that student will receive an email notification:

The email contains a link to sign into their Merit page and automatically takes them to the followers page inside their account.

Also, students can click on the Account link inside their account and then on People. There they will see a list of all of the people following their success and the ability to block them.
