If you need to make changes to a previously granted achievement, click on the Achievements tab and then search the page for the achievement you need to change and click Edit.
Clicking Edit will take you into into the achievement granting workflow. There you will see a notice at the top of the page to alert you that this achievement has been previously published and a link to it on your Merit page:
Depending upon the original error you may need to make changes in three potential places:
- The achievement title or summary
- Student achievements on Merit
- Press releases sent to the media
To correct one of these basic errors, just go to the "What kind of achievement is this?" section and make the necessary changes in the corresponding text box.
To correct an error that appeared on every students' Merit page, simply scroll to the "Write a story about this achievement" section and make the necessary changes. If you don't need to update the media version of your story, scroll to the bottom and click "Preview your edits" to follow the remaining steps for publishing your achievement.
If your error affected hometown newspapers, check the "Send to hometown newspapers" box in the Distribution Channels section. Then check the box to "Also redeliver press releases..." box to notify all of the newspapers who saw the original story.
When sending an edited version of your story to newspapers, we recommend adding a note to the media in both your headline and the opening of your press release. The note should point out the original error and describe the changes in this version of your story. You'll want to do this for both your group and individual press releases.
After making the necessary changes to your press releases, click Preview Your Edits and follow the remaining steps for publishing your achievement.
