Can a student have more than one postal code?

Last Updated: Apr 15, 2016 02:49PM EDT
It's possible that you may have more than one zip code on file for some students. Merit supports press release delivery to multiple postal codes. This feature is ideal for students whose parents live in different cities and ensures that both parents' local newspapers get the press release version of their child's achievement.

To enable this feature, simply include a column in your spreadsheet with a second set of postal codes. In this example, we've added additional postal codes and labeled the column, "Parent Zip."

*Note: you can have more than one postal code per cell in a comma separated list.

When publishing your achievement, you will have to map the additional postal codes to the "Parent postal codes" field. You can also add postal codes to this field when manually adding students.

*Important Note: Merit does not save additional postal codes to student profiles. You will want to include additional postal codes in your spreadsheet every time you want to send press releases about one student to newspapers in different cities.
