Welcoming new students

Every semester sees new students enrolling at your school, and you will need to create new Merit pages for them. In order to stay on top of the game, here's a guide for the steps you should take when welcoming new students to Merit. There are a few things you will want to know before getting started:

How welcome emails work:

 
  • If you're brand new to Merit and starting out with a Student Import, all of your students will receive a welcome email shortly after you've finished importing them. 
 
  • If you've been using Merit for while, then any students on your list who are new to Merit will automatically receive a welcome email when they are part of an achievement or student import. 

Note: Students' first interaction with Merit will always be a welcome email. If a new student is part of an achievement, their welcome email will immediately be followed by their personal achievement email.

Merit provides you with a default welcome email. Here's an example of Merit's default email template:



The text of this email can be viewed and altered from the Settings/Email tab inside your account. If you plan to use a personalized message you will want to
customize this language prior to publishing your achievement or student import. For more about changing this text, go here.
