Merit Release Notes, October 2017

Last Updated: Oct 17, 2017 04:30PM EDT
Merit A.I. upgraded to monitor news media

We've rolled out an exciting new free enhancement for Merit A.I. that we think you're going to love. So many of our customers have had great success with Merit A.I., adding RSS feeds of content that can be turned into achievements or press releases with just a few clicks. Now Merit A.I. will also automatically scan online news media across the web for content about your students.

How does it work?

Merit A.I. will automatically scan online news sources for content mentioning your institution. If the news it finds contains names that match people in your account, then we'll add it to your feed of stories.

News found on the web will show the source in the upper left hand corner, and as always you can still add RSS feeds to Merit A.I. just like you can today.

You can create an achievement or a press release from the content that was found:

Filter and sort

We've also added a new tool to Merit A.I. that lets you filter and sort the stories in your feed.

Filter by:
Title: The title of the story
Date: The date the story was published

Sort by:
# of students: The number of students in your account that were matched in this story
# of news sources: The count of news sources that published this story
Published date: The publication date of the story

How do I get started?

The best news is that you don't need to do anything to get started. This upgrade is a free addition to your current account, but we highly recommend that you do regular student imports to get the most out of Merit A.I.

Hear what happy customers say:

“We are constantly gathering content from across campus in order to build a repository of stories that we can publish on our website and send to specific stakeholders. Merit AI is great because it leverages what we’re already doing to create achievements and press releases and we don’t have to do any extra work. It’s a very clever feature.”
