Create Custom Branded Badges [Style Guide]

Last Updated: Mar 01, 2017 09:27AM EST
We encourage users to create their own custom badges to enhance the institution's brand on students' Merit Pages.

Use the style guide below (click on any image) to guide you in designing your custom badge set. This style guide serves as a badge template, containing the proper font for the badge lettering, acceptable file types, and other minimum requirements. We require all badges be 150x150 pixels in size in order to appear properly on a student's Merit page. A PDF version of the style guide is available at the bottom of this article.

You may create as many badges as you'd like, but Merit requires the following four badges:
  • Achievement (generic badge for uncategorized achievements)
  • Enrollment
  • Graduation
  • Dean's List or Honor Roll

Here are some additional badge recommendations:
  • President's List
  • Scholarship
  • Honor Society
  • Study Abroad
  • Sports
  • Drama or Music
  • Visual Arts Student
  • Competition
  • Community Service
  • Internships
  • Student Government
  • Who's Who
  • Greek Organizations
  • Alumni

Adding Badges to your Merit Account

After designing your badge(s), you will need to upload them to your Merit account. Follow this link for instructions on
Adding and Importing badges.

*Helpful Tip

You don't have to design and upload all of your your badges at one time. Start with the required badges (dean's list, general achievement badge, etc) or badges that will match the first few Merit achievements you plan to grant.
