Image Guidelines for Social Media Posts

Merit allows you to post your student achievements and Newsroom press releases to any Twitter or Facebook accounts that you have connected to your account. When posting your story to social media, Merit will always try to use an applicable image to accompany the post.

Image Selection Priority for Student Achievements posted to social media:

When you enable social media posting for your student achievement, Merit will use the following image selection priority based on image guideline requirements suggested by Facebook and Twitter and the images that are available for the post. 

           First choice: Photos attachments you have included with your achievement
           Second choice: Your default social media image in your Merit settings
           Third choice: The achievement badge/image 
           Fourth choice: Your school's email logo
           Fifth choice: Merit's corporate logo (Blue "M" Star image)

When you enable social media posting for your Newsroom press release, Merit will use the following image selection priority based on image guideline requirements suggested by Facebook and Twitter and the images that are available for the post. 

           First choice: Photos attachments you have included with your achievement
           Second choice: Your default social media image in your Merit settings
           Third choice: Your school's email logo
           Fourth choice: Merit's corporate logo (Blue "M" Star image)



Photo Size Requirements: Attachments for your achievement or press release

Large and landscape images should be more than 600 px wide with a width to height ratio between 4x3 and 12x5. Here's an example of what this image would look like:

Small and squarish images should be sized between 200 and 599 px with a width to height ratio between 3x4 and 4x3. Here's an example of what this image would look like:

Image Size Requirements: Your school's default social media image
