Using sentences or paragraphs as placeholders
If you're looking to personalize your achievements with quotes or other unique student information, incorporating full or partial sentences (or even paragraphs) into your spreadsheet may be the way to go. They help you add important personal variables that don't apply to the every person in your spreadsheet.
In this example, some students will be quoted in their own story regarding their experience in the Jazz Band on campus.
If a student does not have data in that cell, a quote will not appear in their story. Because all punctuation is included in the cell, the quote will fit seamlessly into the story.
When creating your achievement in Merit, just add a "quote" placeholder into the appropriate spot in your story.
If you're also releasing your story to the media, you will want to add the "quote" placeholder to the the repeating section of your Group Release.
