Students are able to customize their Merit pages in many ways. They can add images, content, links and affiliations to their page. Here you'll find a brief summary of the various parts of students' pages.
Merit Page URL
Merit will automatically create a URL for every student's page. These URLs contain a mix of the student's name and a randomly assigned 6- or 7-digit number. Every student can create a personal URL for their Merit page, which removes the number and uses a unique URL of their choice.
Layout
Students have the ability to choose one of two layouts for their Merit page. Either a centered page with a small circular profile photo on top of a background image, or a large featured image that splits the page:
Images
The most immediate customizations you'll notice when visiting a student's Merit page are the profile and (potentially) background photos that a student adds to their page. In the example below, the circular photo is the student's profile image, and the background landscape is their cover photo:
Introductory Information
Students have the ability to edit the information that appears at the top of their Merit page, including their name, major, minor, class year, hometown, social links and bio. The name of your institution will also appear here:
Other Affiliations
Any additional affiliations students have with high schools, colleges and universities, and other organizations (honor societies, etc.) will appear next. These affiliations can be added by either students or their institutions:
In The News
Achievements published by your organization (and other organizations using Merit) will appear in this section. This part of the student's page is not customizable. All of these stories will contain a Verified by... indication to identify the source of the news:
Student Added Achievements
Your students have the ability to add their own achievements to their Merit page to help fill out any gaps in their college career. These achievements will contain an Added by... note to identify that the content was added by the student themselves:
Activities
Any activities that the student participated in on campus can be added to their page here. Merit lets students choose from an automatically built list of the activities and clubs at your institution. Alternatively, students can manually enter their own activities:
Work Experience
Students can add any internships or jobs they have performed to the Work Experience section of their Merit page:
Projects, Publications & Resumes
The last sections of a student's page allows them to share any special projects or work they completed at your institution. They can also upload an official resume here:
