Your institution's Media Monitoring subscription allows you to collect and analyze your online mentions. To configure your institution's media monitoring account, you will want to go to the Mentions section under the Settings tab.
There you can manage your ad equivalency values and your institution's newsfeed.
Ad Equivalency Values
Ad equivalency is a statistic that attempts to measure the value of the media coverage you have received, by comparing it with the cost an advertiser pays for one thousand views or impressions of an advertisement. This stat is known as CPM (or cost per thousand).
Merit will automatically set you up with some default CPM values in your Mentions settings, but you may change these values as desired. Assigning a greater or lesser value to 1,000 views of your story on both Merit and Facebook. Click Submit to make changes or Reset to Defaults to return to Merit's default CPM values.
Merit will use these numbers when calculating the ad equivalency values of your mentions. Learn more about AEV and impressions.
Newsfeed
Merit automatically generates a shareable Mentions newsfeed for you which can be embedded anywhere on your institutional website. Material can be added to or removed from this feed by using tags in the Mentions section. Learn more about adding tags to Mentions.
By default, if you add the Newsfeed tag to any mention, it will automatically appear in your newsfeed. However, you can also choose to include any other tags in this newsfeed by checking the box next to any tag.
