Requesting a Spreadsheet for an Import

To import your student data into Merit, you may need to contact your registrar or admissions office. They will be able to provide you with a list of your enrolled students. Below you will find an email template that you can use when requesting this information:

I'm writing to request an up-to-date list of currently enrolled students. Please send the list in the form of a spreadsheet and include the following information, in separate columns:

  • First Names
  • Last Names
  • Hometowns
  • Hometown Zip Codes
  • Campus Email Addresses
  • Personal Student Email Addresses (If available)
  • Parent Email Addresses (if available)
  • High School CEEB Codes (if available)
  • Majors (if available)
  • Degrees (if available)
  • Class Years (if available)

Our department uses Merit to recognize these students for their achievements and activities on campus. Merit shares these achievements with students, their families, friends, local media, high schools and government representatives.

All of the data is considered directory information and fully compliant with FERPA. Additionally, students can opt out of having these achievements created for them through both our office and the Merit platform.
