Here you will learn how to remove a student and all of their achievements from Merit. We call this Merit's Opt Out feature.
Students can opt out of Merit from inside their account at any time, but you also have the ability to opt students out whenever needed.
Opting a Student Out
Start by looking up the student on the Students tab. Use the Search box to locate the student and then click the Opt Out link on their card:
The student's page and all of their achievements will no longer appear online. Anyone visiting their page will see a 410 error message. Additionally, Merit will prevent any future achievements about the student from going out.
You will still be able to locate the student inside your Merit account. However, their profile will be tagged as Opted Out:
Opting a Student Back In
You can opt a student back into Merit at any time after they've opted out. To do this, use the Search box on the Students tab to locate the student and then click the Opt In link on their card:
The student's page will be reactivated and all of their previously earned achievements will return.
However, achievements that were added while the student was opted out of Merit, will not be added to their page automatically. You will want to use Merit's Add Students feature to add these stories to their page.
