Press releases sent through Merit are emailed directly to our media network contact(s) at each outlet. Below you will see samples of what theses various press release notifications look like:
Achievement Press Releases
Every achievement that you publish can be shared with students' local newspapers and online publications. These emailed press releases about students will come from news@meritpages.com.
The subject line of the email will be the press release headline you chose in Step 6 of Merit's achievement workflow. Keep in mind that this headline may vary depending upon whether the paper is interested in an individual student or a group of students from your list.
Individual Press Releases
Here's an example of what a newspaper will receive when only one student from your list is from their coverage area:
Group Press Releases
Here's an example of what a newspaper will receive when more than one student from your list is from their coverage area:
Note: Press releases listing more than 100 students will not list all students in the body of the email. Instead, their press release will include a link to their media portal page, containing the full list of students. Learn more about Merit's media portal pages.
Newsroom Press Releases
Every Newsroom press release that you publish can be shared with any contacts in Merit's media network. They will also go to any personal contacts you choose for this release.
These press releases will come from the email address of the user publishing the press release. Click here to learn more about whitelabeling.
The subject line of the email will be your press release headline. Here's an example of a press release emailed through Newsroom:
Pro Tip: If you prefer to have your press release emails to media come from a general mailbox (for example: communications@meritu.edu) you will need to create a new Merit user account using the address and use that account while publishing.
Photos and Attachments
When an image is included in an emailed press release, the file will be hosted online and a link to the hosted file will appear at the bottom of the story. In an effort to improve deliverability, Merit does not embed or attach files to emails.
