Importing Faculty

Adding faculty members to your account is one of the most important things you'll do. Importing a spreadsheet of faculty will create a Merit page for each faculty member and also create an online faculty directory that you can share on your institutional website.

Performing an import will also help Merit AI identify any faculty members mentioned in your RSS feeds. Learn more about Merit AI.

Importing a spreadsheet of faculty members is identical to importing students. As usual, Merit will require the following five data sets when importing faculty:

First Names - Middle names or initials must be in their own separate column
Last Names
Hometowns
Zip Codes 
Campus Email Addresses

There are some additional data sets available when importing faculty. To get the most out of your faculty account, you should include columns for the following data in your spreadsheet:

Suffixes - (PhD, MD, etc.)
Titles - (Professor of English, Assistant Professor of Physics, etc.)  
Department - (Department of Science, Math, Engineering, etc.)

 

To perform a faculty import, mouseover the Faculty tab at the top of your screen and click on Imports:
