Merit's media network consists of over 12,000 media outlets. You can deliver press releases to these publications through Merit's achievement workflow and Newsroom.
The audience for your press releases will differ based upon whether you're publishing an achievement or Newsroom press release. Here's some information about each:
Achievements
Every time you publish an achievement you have the ability to connect with over 10,000 local newspapers and online publications across the country.
Merit will use students' zip codes to match each of them up to the newspapers that cover their hometown regularly. Depending upon where the student is from, there may be multiple newspapers that cover their hometown.
Each newspaper will receive a press release that lists all of their local students. If one student matches up to a newspaper, that paper will receive an individual press release about that one person. If more than one person from your list is from a paper's coverage area, that newspaper will receive a group press release that lists all of their local students in one story.
Merit knows which version of the story each paper should receive and which students should be included.

Newsroom
When you publish a press release through Merit's Newsroom platform, you will have access to over 10,000 local newspapers and online publications as well as over 2,000 television and radio stations.

Any press release can also be sent to Merit's curated National Higher Education Media distribution list. This list includes larger publications and networks interested in education on a national level and is included in Newsroom free of charge.
