Student Welcome Emails

In most cases, when students are added to Merit for the first time, they will receive a welcome email. This welcome email helps introduce your students to Merit and encourages them to log in and customize their page. 

When you import students into Merit, students who have never been welcomed will receive a welcome email:

This email serves as an introduction to Merit and contains a link that will sign the student into their Merit page. A default welcome email will appear in your account, but we encourage you to alter this language to more closely reflect your brand standards. Learn more about customizing the text of your welcome email.

When sending welcome emails, Merit will never send emails to:

  • Students who have opted out
  • Students who have already received their welcome email
  • Students whose Merit class year is in the past, meaning they have already graduated.

All other students will receive your institution's chosen welcome email.
